Summary

A key part of health care legislation for entrepreneurs has been put on hold.

The White House has announced that part of The Affordable Care Act aimed at helping small business owners provide insurance for their employees has been put on hold until 2015. Under the health option program, entrepreneurs were supposed to be able to choose one plan for their workers or let the staff choose between a number of plans. The clause that allowed employees to choose their own coverage is the part of the law that’s been delayed. Paula Wilson, who heads up her own insurance agency specializing in employee and small business benefits, helps us sort through this latest change. She’s joined by Angela Jia Kim, co-founder of Savor the Success, and Heather Thomson, the creator of Yummie by Heather and one of the “Real Housewives of New York City.”
